The Council on Neighborhood Associations, CONA, is collaborating with other civic organizations in Woodford County to prepare a comprehensive guide to the candidates for local offices in the next election.
“This will be the place to learn about the candidates’ platforms and their stances on important issues that affect all Woodford County residents. Woodford Forward is spearheading this initiative to help all of us become more informed voters. CONA/Woodford Forward will be soliciting potential questions from your NA/HOA to include in the candidate survey.”
Feel free to provide questions for the candidates by replying to this post.
@board
CONA is compiling a list of possible questions for candidates. Looking to submit them by March 1st. Below are a couple already being considered.
- What are your views on local government offering small grants to formally organized neighborhood or homeowners’ associations?
- How can neighborhoods/subdivisions get support from local government for code violations (e.g., deed restriction violations, violations of local ordinances)?
I plan to submit:
-What kind of grants are available for subdivisions in the county similar to the $7,500 awarded within the city limits. If not, is there future consideration?
-What are the duties as a magistrate? If elected, what would you like to accomplish and how will you go about achieving these goals?
Will be glad to submit other possible questions to CONA. Just let me know by the end of the month.
Can reply to this post or by email if you like.
