Dear: Stonegate Homestead Neighborhood Association LLC,

The Board of the Council of Neighborhood Associations – Woodford County is extending your membership at no charge.

Due to the pandemic that as disrupted so many of our lives we felt that a do over was warranted. We were not able to move forward with many of our plans and projects. We were, however, able to give out a few grants to help Neighborhood Associations and Homeowners Associations with projects. With the arrival of spring, remember that there are still some grant funds available to support small enhancement projects by member Neighborhood and Homeowner Associations.

It is our hope, now that the pandemic seems to be coming under control, we can establish a new norm for ourselves, CONA, can begin to launch new projects to better our community. Two examples of our current work are:

Expansion of biking and walking trails throughout Woodford County. Recently, we met with Magistrate Merrill, who is advocating for a walk/bike trail to connect Stonegate/Homestead neighborhoods with downtown Versailles. This could also include converting old railroad tracks to trails to help connect neighborhoods with each other, downtown Versailles and, Midway.

Collaborating with other civic organizations in Woodford County to prepare a comprehensive guide to the candidates for local offices in the next election. This will be the place to learn about the candidates’ platforms and their stances on important issues that affect all Woodford County residents. Woodford Forward is spearheading this initiative to help all of us become more informed voters. So we will be soliciting potential questions from your NA/HOA to include in the candidate survey.

CONA-WC is dedicated to expanding opportunities for residents in Neighborhood and Homeowner Associations to live in a vital and responsive community where their hopes and dreams can be expressed and acted on. Please consider having one of your association members join the CONA board. The more neighborhoods contributing ideas for enhancing the quality of life in our community, the more effective we can be as an organization.

Mike Adams
Chair, CONA-WC
